If you want to discover the Serranía de Ronda by mountain bike you'll need to be well prepared and have a good level of fitness. This is because all the trails and tracks continuously rise and descend and there are very few ¨flat¨ areas.
All the tracks that we have decribed in our information sheets, and on our maps are safe self-guided routes, for individual or group rides who are planning a day trip. These routes will lead you through the ever changing Spanish countryside. Most of our cycling routes start and end in Ronda. The great advantage to this is, you can ride in any direction and use Ronda as a base, especially if you plan to stay longer than a day.
On your cycling trip you’ll discover varied species of birds and other wild animals. Some of the plants and trees you'll see are rare to Spain or are endemic to the region. We ask that you be careful in the natural surrounds and respect the environment.
If you happen to go off track, sometimes you will encounter high fences or gates that appear suddenly on the track: please be aware that you're only allowed to pass through these areas if it's not prohibited. If it's prohibited to enter the sign will normally read, "Propiedad Privada Prohibido el Paso" (Private Property Prohibited to Pass).
On these types of routes you'll hardly see villages, therefore we have given you an information pack where you'll be able to find restaurants and bars that are close enough for you to buy lunch, snacks, water and so on.
Our mountain bikes are well equipped for our cycling conditions as they have 27 gears to help you climb the hills, and mountains in the region. This year we chose NEW! rental bikes with disc brakes, as they have better braking systems to handle all year round weather conditions.
When riding one of our mountain bikes try to treat this bike as a cross country bike, and not a down hill bike. We like to think that all of our customers will treat our rental bikes as if they were their own!

All of our bikes come with this kit as we prefer our cyclists to feel safe and prepared if you want to stop somewhere for a while or end up getting a flat tyre. With our rental bikes we fit special puncture resistant tyres, so the likely hood of you using your repair kit is very low.Upon receiving your rental bike on request we can provide a waterproof map holder, to keep your maps, and detailed information dry and together.
